Over 50 jobs created as Lidl opens new stores

Lidl, Ireland’s Number 1 discount retailer will open three new stores this month, creating over fifty positions across the three new stores in Galway, Cork and Donegal. This announcement will see Lidl open its 140th Irish store and brings its total number of employees to over 3,400. The three new stores in Doughiska, Cork City Centre and Letterkenny will open on Thursday, 27th February. Over fifty staff have been recruited from the localities to service the three new stores. President visits Barretstown to acknowledge work to help sick children Saturday February 15: The President of Ireland Michael D Higgins visited Barretstown in Co Kildare today to mark the 20th anniversary of the children’s charity which has helped over 27,000 seriously ill children and their family members since 1994. The President, who is visiting on International Childhood Cancer Day, was met by 200 Barretstown campers and their families.
